Earl G. Cutler, P. E.
Founding Principal

EDUCATION:
B. S. Architectural Engineering University of Texas, 1959

Mr. Cutler is a Registered Professional Engineer (Texas) with over 40 years experience in the design and construction of concrete, steel, and wood structures, including foundations and superstructures.  Mr. Cutler has been in responsible charge of major projects in the South/Central Texas area including several hotel projects.  During his career, Mr. Cutler as engineered in excess of 15 million square feet of new construction.


Thomas M. Gallaway, P. E.
Founding Principal

Mr. Gallaway is a Registered Professional Engineer (Texas, Utah & Maryland) who has more than 35 years experience in the design and construction of structural steel, concrete, wood, and light gage structural systems.  Mr. Gallaway has authored six papers that have been presented at national and international conferences.























CGS Engineers have provided the structural design for over 20 million square feet of structures, with design live loads up to 600 psf on elevated floors and 3000 psf on ground-supported slabs.

Concrete frame designs have included office buildings up to 34 stories in height, hotels to 14 stories, parking garages to 10 stories, as well as many special-use structures.  Structural steel designs have included mid-rise structures 6 stories in height and large footprint industrial facilities in excess of 200,000 square feet.


Phil Thorson, P. E.
Associate

EDUCATION:
B. S. Architectural Engineering Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, CA 1972

Mr. Thorson is a Licensed Professional Engineer (Texas, California, Florida & Nevada) with more than 30 years experience in structural engineering.  His experience includes the design of numerous prestressed concrete structures, both precast/prestressed and CIP post-tensioned.  He spent one year in Paris studying the design of heavily loaded, long-span reinforced and post-tensioned structures.


Gordon Kuang, P. E.
Project Engineer

M.S. Civil Engineering (Structures) Texas Tech University, 1977

Mr. Kuang is a Licensed Professional Engineer (Texas) with more than 25 years experience in the design and construction of steel and concrete structures.  His experience includes the design of many notable structures in the San Antonio area such as Air Force Village II, Cornerstone Church, and the addition to the Hilton Palacio Del Rio, while with another firm prior to joining CGS is 1987.
